The first shave is an important right of passage from boyhood into adulthood. For Samson Brown, a transgender man, we aimed to show how shaving for the first time was equally personal and powerful. Produced in 2016 and later released in 2019, “First Shave” was Gillette’s first LGBT support initiative and the first-ever Cannes Glass Lion awarded to a male brand.
